New Beginnings

New city, new place...new pillows...hehe. We're all moved now to Ft. Worth, TX. It's been a real challenge, but time will tell if our gamble will pay off. The best part for me is being away from our previous town. I enjoyed the different aspects of the desert (NOT the summer heat!), but I did like the sunsets and sunrises and the mountains. But the town....I feel sorry for those suckered into moving there because it's terribly backwards and doesn't seem to be moving forward at all, despite some efforts to do so.

So, it's an adjustment to get use to city life again...the sirens at night, the crazy traffic, the fact that I'm constantly checking our door locks to be sure they are locked. The best part of small town life is the feeling of safety and security. The worst part is when small town life stagnates instead of progressing in a positive manner. The best part of city life is the convenience...to the store for a jug of milk, easy access to a job. The worst part of city life is the insecurity, the need to be smart about your safety and the safety of your family.

But, I'm happy to be here in Ft. Worth and I've very much liked the people I've met so far. I really think this is going to be a good place for us. :)
